It's a Goodman CPLJ60-1B unit and the 370V 80+5uf Dual round run capacitor has gone bad 3 times in 5 years. Should I replace it with a higher value?
The first one shorted on the top because the insulator between the contact and case came loose.

A: Put the stock capacitor back on and install a hard start kit. Make sure the coil and condenser are clean and change your filter often.

replaced fan motor and capacitor, but fan humming when turned on but the fan still doesn't turn. please tell me what the problem can be. Have 2 small children really need to get this problem fixed.

The blower motor (attached to the squirrel cage) stopped working. It would just hum when turned on, so I replaced the capacitor and now it only works 50% of the time, but when it actually does come on, it blows air just fine. Any help would be appreciated!
A: its got to be the motor itself. capacitors rarely go bad on blower motors,but i guess it was worth the try before shelling out for a motor.
